Central Valley Center for the Vision and Hearing Impaired dba Visually Impaired Persons Support - VIPS (Modesto)

VIPS provides vocational rehabilitation services to maximize the skills and independence of people who are blind or visually impaired. Our core services include Assistive Technology/Computer training; Independent Living Skills training; and, Braille instruction (Grades 1&2). VIPS has a peer Support Group and Writer's Group and provides information and referral services.

Transportation via Bus via Bus Lines, Para Transit: VIPS is located in downtown Modesto; thus, all of the downtown routes drop off either around the corner or within 2-3 short, city blocks of our facility. All buses are wheelchair accessible.

Qualifications

Experience serving the blind/visually impaired community for 7 years. VIPS has been a vendor of DOR since 08/2009. We have a full-time Assistive Technology instructor and a part-time Independent Living Skills/Braille instructor.
